The Premier Z13 door threshold is designed to create a neat and reliable transition from thick carpet to hard floor coverings such as tiles, stone, wood, or thick LVT. Suitable for carpets up to approximately 13mm thick (when compressed), it offers a stable and professional finish across doorways and room transitions.
If your carpet is a more standard thickness (around 8–10mm), the Premier Z9 is typically recommended instead.
The threshold must be fitted onto level base floors. Where there is a slight variation in height, 3mm MDF packing strips are supplied and can be stacked beneath the trim to raise it slightly, allowing it to sit correctly over the edge of the hard flooring.
The carpet is secured onto the base pins and can be ‘napped down’ once installed, improving grip and reducing the overall height slightly.

How to Install a Door Threshold Step-by-Step
Installing a Premier Z13 door threshold is straightforward:
Measure the required width and cut the trim to size using a hacksaw.
If needed, convert the bar by removing one base section along the scored groove using pliers (turn anti-clockwise).
Position the threshold over the join between carpet and hard flooring.
Adjust height using MDF strips if required.
Fix the threshold using adhesive, nails, or screws (avoiding underfloor heating).
Press the carpet onto the pins.
Use a carpeted wood block to ‘nap down’ the carpet for a firmer grip.
Check that the threshold sits securely and evenly.
Remove one base section to join extra-thick carpets to hard flooring.
Score along the marked groove on the reverse of the Premier Double Z13.Peel off the excess base strip with a pair of pliers.
