The Premier Double Z13 door threshold is specifically designed to join two extra-deep pile carpets, making it ideal for thicker flooring installations. Its double Z (double naplock) design securely grips both carpet edges, creating a neat and seamless transition across doorways or open spaces.
Suitable for carpets approximately 13mm to 18mm thick (excluding underlay), this door threshold strip ensures a strong and stable join, even in high-traffic areas. It can also be adapted to join carpet to a hard floor by removing one base section, offering additional flexibility where needed.
Crafted from solid brass with a polished brass finish, this door bar combines durability with a bright, classic appearance that complements a wide range of interior styles.
Threshold width: 30mm (visible top bar)

Start by measuring the width of your doorway or the area where the carpet join will sit. Choose a slightly longer length so the door threshold strip can be trimmed for a precise fit.
This Double Z13 door bar is specifically designed for thicker carpets. If your carpet is closer to 8â10mm thick, the Double Z9 may be a more suitable option.
Ensure both floor surfaces are level. If there is a slight difference in height, use the included MDF packing strips to achieve a flush, professional finish.

To remove an existing door threshold, first identify how it has been fixed.
If secured with screws, carefully remove them using the correct screwdriver. For nails, use a claw hammer or pry bar to gently lift the threshold.
For double Z door bars, release the carpet edges from the pins before lifting the bar. Take care to avoid damaging carpet fibres or underlay.
Clear away any remaining fixings or debris before installing your new door threshold strip.
As this door threshold is made from solid brass and is unlacquered, it may naturally develop a patina over time depending on its environment. For more advice, read our door threshold maintenance guide.
