The Premier Single 13 is designed for joining extra thick carpets, typically between 13mm and 18mm, to thinner floor coverings including vinyl, LVT, Amtico and bare floorboards. Its curved edge slopes down to meet the adjoining floor covering, creating a smooth transition between the two surfaces.
Carpet is held securely under tension by the integrated teeth, while the adjoining floor covering fits neatly beneath the curved edge. This helps eliminate exposed carpet edges and prevents the carpet from becoming rucked up after installation.
If you are fitting a more standard thickness carpet, the manufacturer recommends the Premier Single 9. For thin carpets and sisal flooring, the Premier Single 4 is the appropriate alternative.

Installing a Premier Single 13 door threshold is straightforward:
- Measure the doorway and cut the threshold to the required length using a sharp hacksaw.
- Position the threshold where the carpet meets the adjoining floor covering.
- Fix the threshold using a proprietary adhesive, nails or screws, avoiding areas with underfloor heating.
- Ensure the underlay stops short of the door threshold.
- If required, position the supplied 3mm Easywedges beneath the fixing points to raise the threshold where underlays are different thicknesses.
- Compress thick carpets onto the pins before napping down.
- Use a carpeted wood block to 'nap down' the threshold, giving the carpet an extra firm grip on the pins and reducing the carpet height by approximately 2–4mm.
