Premier Ramps in Satin Nickel connect hard floors with a brushed finish incline. A clean, modern transition solution for laminate, wood or tile joins of different levels.

Fastest Available Option*

Premier Ramps provide a safe, secure way to bridge height differences of 10–20mm between two hard floors. Featuring a strong self-adhesive backing, they create a neat transition without the need for screws, making them ideal where underfloor heating is installed.

Description

Designed for joining hard floors at different heights, Premier Ramps create a smooth transition between flooring surfaces while reducing trip hazards. Suitable for ceramic tiles, laminate, engineered wood, sealed stone and LVT, they simply stick into place with no drilling required.

Manufactured from solid brass and available in a choice of 10 natural metal finishes, these ramps provide a durable and attractive finishing touch. If your floor height difference is 9mm or less, we recommend the Premier 2 Way Ramp instead.

How to Install a Door Threshold Step-by-Step

Installing a Premier Square door threshold is straightforward:

  1. Measure the doorway and cut the door bar to size using a hacksaw.
  2. Position the threshold where the carpet meets the hard floor.
  3. Fix the trim using adhesive, nails, or screws (avoiding underfloor heating).
  4. Ensure the carpet edge is positioned correctly against the pins.
  5. Press the carpet into place so it is gripped securely.
  6. Use a carpeted wood block to β€˜nap down’ the trim for a tighter fit if required.
  7. Check the trim sits evenly and securely across the join.

How to Remove an Existing Door Threshold

To remove an existing door threshold, first identify how it has been fixed.
If secured with screws, carefully remove them using the correct screwdriver. For nails, use a claw hammer or pry bar to gently lift the trim.
Release the carpet edge from the pins before removing the threshold. Take care to avoid damaging the carpet or surrounding flooring.
Clear away any remaining fixings or debris before installing your new door threshold strip.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Clean using a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners. As this product is manufactured from solid, unlacquered brass, the finish may naturally develop a patina over time. For more information about cleaning and maintaining your door threshold, please see our cleaning guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Premier Single 4 used for?

The Premier Single 4 is designed to join thin stick-down carpets and natural sisal, up to 4mm thick, with floorboards or thin vinyl flooring. Its curved profile creates a neat transition between the two floor coverings while helping to conceal the carpet edge.

Can it be used with standard thickness carpet?

No. The Premier Single 4 is intended for thin carpets only. If you are fitting a standard thickness carpet, the manufacturer recommends choosing the Premier Single 9 door threshold instead.

How is the carpet secured?

The carpet is held under tension by the integrated teeth within the threshold, while the adjoining floor covering sits beneath the curved edge. Once fitted, the carpet can also be 'napped down' using a carpeted wood block to improve the grip further and reduce the carpet height slightly.
