Installation & Fitting Tips
Premier Matwells are a technical installation job that is best carried out by an experienced flooring fitter at the time the floating floor is installed.
Tools Required:
- Mitre saw suitable for metal
- Measuring tools
- Non-expanding cartridge adhesive
- Plywood or suitable subfloor build-up material
Fitting Overview:
- Lay the floating floor, leaving a recessed space for the mat.
- Calculate the total external frame dimensions to determine how many lengths are required.
- Build up the matwell base to the correct finished depth.
- Cut and mitre carefully to create neat corners.
- Fix into position using a non-expanding adhesive.
- Fit the matting into the completed recess.
- Because no screws are involved, this profile is ideal where underfloor heating may be present.
Cleaning & Aftercare
This product is made from solid brass and hand-finished. As it is unlacquered, the finish may vary slightly between batches and may naturally age over time depending on its environment.
To maintain your matwell trim:

- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning
- Use a suitable metal polish if desired
