Aluminium Square trim in Satin Chrome offers a brushed metallic edge for hard floor joins. A square profile that complements contemporary interiors and neatly conceals expansion gaps.

Fastest Available Option*

The Aluminium Square is designed to hide the edge of a carpet and create a tidy join where it meets a hard floor covering. Suitable for use with flooring materials including stone, real wood, ceramic tiles and laminate, it provides a smart finish across doorways and room transitions.

Also referred to as an SQ profile, this threshold is ideal for situations where a carpet edge meets another floor surface or finishes against features such as French doors and door frames. The square-edge design creates a clean, defined transition while helping to secure the carpet edge.

Manufactured from aluminium, the profile is designed for durability and everyday use. It should be installed where both floor surfaces are level, allowing the threshold to sit flat across the join. Available in 900mm and 1800mm lengths, the Aluminium Square can be trimmed to fit and is supplied in a choice of nine finishes, including this Chrome version.

How to Install the Aluminium Square

  1. Measure the doorway or flooring transition and cut the threshold to length using a hacksaw.
  2. Position the profile between the carpet and adjoining floor covering.
  3. Fix the threshold using a suitable adhesive, screws or nails.
  4. Avoid fixing in areas where underfloor heating may be present.
  5. Ensure the carpet underlay stops short of the threshold.
  6. Secure the carpet edge into position.

Once installed, the profile can be gently napped down using a carpeted wood block. This can help provide a firmer grip on the carpet and may reduce the finished height by approximately 3mm.
