Aluminium Single 9 - Satin Nickel

The Aluminium Single 9 is designed for joining carpet to thinner floor coverings such as vinyl, luxury vinyl flooring, Amtico and bare floorboards. Its rounded profile creates a gradual transition from the carpet pile to the adjoining floor surface, helping to achieve a tidy and professional finish.

Suitable for most carpets that compress to approximately 9mm thick, the profile is intended for installations where both base floors are level. Once fitted, it provides a secure join while maintaining a smooth transition between flooring types.

Manufactured from aluminium, the Single 9 is available in a choice of nine finishes and supplied in 900mm and 1800mm lengths. The profile can be cut to size to suit individual doorways and flooring transitions.

For carpets thinner than 9mm, the Single 4 may be more suitable. For thicker carpets, consider the Single 13 profile.

How to Install the Aluminium Single 9

1. Measure the doorway or flooring transition and cut the profile to length using a hacksaw.
2. Position the threshold between the carpet and adjoining floor covering.
3. Secure the profile using a suitable adhesive, screws or nails.
4. Avoid fixing into areas containing underfloor heating.
5. Ensure the carpet underlay stops short of the threshold.
6. Fit the carpet into position.

Once installed, the threshold can be gently napped down using a carpeted wood block. This can help create a firmer grip on the carpet and may reduce the finished height by approximately 3mm.
