Description
The Ali Tramline Z is a specialist carpet threshold designed for joining carpet to luxury vinyl flooring, laminate flooring and other multi-layered floor coverings. Suitable for use across rooms and doorways, it helps create a discreet, professional-looking transition between different floor surfaces.
The profile features a recessed channel designed to accept a 24mm wide strip of matching flooring. This allows the threshold to coordinate with the adjoining floor for a more integrated appearance.
For WPC and SPC flooring, the 1mm recess option is designed to accommodate the peeled-off decorative top layer. For luxury vinyl flooring up to 3mm thick, the 3mm recess option accepts a cut strip of flooring. The 3mm profile can also be used with click-fit LVT and thicker laminate flooring where the material has been planed down to fit the recess.
Manufactured from high-grade aluminium, the Ali Tramline Z is available in polished brass, antique brass, chrome and black finishes. It is supplied in 900mm and 1800mm lengths and can be cut to suit the installation.

How to Install the Ali Tramline Z
Installing the 3mm Recess Option
- Measure and cut a 24mm wide strip of flooring.
- Position the threshold and secure it to the floor using the supplied Easywedges beneath each nail hole.
- Avoid fixing near underfloor heating systems.
- Ensure the carpet underlay finishes before the threshold.
- Stretch the carpet onto the carpet pins.
- Remove the protective backing from the adhesive strip within the recessed channel.
- Secure the flooring insert into place.
Installing the 1mm Recess Option
- Carefully peel away the decorative top layer from the WPC or SPC flooring.
- Cut the insert to the required size.
- Place the insert into the recessed channel using the adhesive strip provided.
- Follow the remaining installation steps outlined for the 3mm option.
