How to Choose the Right Size Door Threshold

Begin by measuring the full width of your doorway. It’s helpful to allow a touch of extra length so the bar can be trimmed for a perfectly flush fit. If your opening is wider, selecting an extended-length threshold avoids needing multiple joins.

For hard-to-hard flooring, consider how much coverage you want across each surface. Always check the height of the two floors as well; if one sits considerably higher, a ramped profile with a gentle incline will help maintain a safe, level transition.

If the threshold sits directly beneath a door, ensure there’s enough height clearance to accommodate the door bar without the door catching.
